Maverick Arts Publishing Opens Production Company

Maverick Arts Publishing has opened its own production company, Maverick Pictures, with the intention to option and develop future TV and film projects for family audiences.

The new studio is currently in development on a live-action adaptation of Jenny Moore’s Dragon Girl fantasy books, which are set to be published in March 2026. The TV series will consist of six 22-minute episodes aimed at 10- to 13-year-olds.

Maverick Pictures launches in collaboration with writer and actor Luke Bailey of A New Road Productions.

“We are delighted to be launching Maverick Pictures in partnership with A New Road Productions,” said Steve Bicknell, managing director of Maverick Pictures. “We look forward to bringing Maverick’s books to life for the screen and are excited to be collaborating with Luke Bailey and his team, whose industry experience will be invaluable as we develop our upcoming live action, Dragon Girl, based on the fantasy children’s books written by Jenny Moore.”

Bailey commented, “Stories about identity, courage and resilience are why we created A New Road Productions, so we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside Maverick in bringing the magic and ferocity of Dragon Girl to life.”
