MarVista On Board to Exclusively Distribute Dream Street

MarVista Entertainment has been appointed as the exclusive international distributor for the reimagined preschool series Dream Street, created by Nigel Stone, producer and CEO of Platinum Films.

MarVista will present the 65×10-minute episodes to the international marketplace at MIPJunior in October. Dream Street follows the adventures of Buddy the Magical Truck, Daisy the Police Car and their toy-box friends as they face everyday challenges. The BAFTA-nominated show aims to teach children about problem-solving, friendship, social awareness and other core values.

Platinum Films recreated the series for a new generation of kids, using roto-morphing techniques to re-composit every shot and add new 3D-animation and special FX. Platinum Films is currently developing a global consumer products program to coincide with the re-launch of the series around the world. Short-form content has also been developed for digital distribution.

Dream Street is narrated by British comedian Russ Abbot and also features the voice talents of Charlotte Bellamy (Emmerdale), Chris Jarvis (Show Me, Show Me), Dave Benson Phillips (Get Your Own Back) and Emma Tate (Horrid Henry).

Dream Street exemplifies innovation in preschool programming, promoting positive core social skills to young viewers while delivering cutting-edge visuals that keep them engaged and entertained,” said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista. “From the animation production value to the talent involved in reimagining the series for a new generation, we believe the magical quality and messaging of the series will appeal to both traditional channels and digital platforms and will resonate with young children all over the world.”

Stone commented: “MarVista is the perfect partner to introduce Dream Street to the global stage. They share our ambition and passion for the property and their reputation for growing successful children’s brands is first class. We have every confidence that Dream Street will be a huge success internationally, and we are thrilled to be working with them on this exciting preschool show.”
