marblemedia, JamPie Media, TVO and Knowledge Network are slated to begin production on the new craft-themed, scripted live-action show Super Mighty Makers this fall for an autumn 2018 launch.

Super Mighty Makers sees children engage in acts of kindness by crafting things with help from a team of “Super Mighty Makers” who have special do-it-yourself powers. The series marks the first created by Jamie Piekarz from her new company JamPie Media. It will be produced by marblemedia in association with JamPie Media, TVO and Knowledge Network.

Distribution360, a marblemedia company, will hold distribution and licensing rights for Super Mighty Makers, including both tape and format sales.

Mark Bishop, co-CEO of marblemedia, commented: “Kids can change the world! They are brimming with creativity, curiosity and kindness, and we look forward to celebrating a new generation of D.I.Y. superheroes with this new series.”

“The idea for Super Mighty Makers came from paying attention to kids as they make crafts,” noted Piekarz. “Whether at home, in school or at summer camps, children are always talking about how to make their creations special for the person they want to give them to. Crafting has kindness built into its very DNA, so creating a show that combined kindness missions with D.I.Y. was natural.”

Marney Malabar, TVO’s director of kids’ TV, added: “Children can truly make a difference through a simple act of kindness. Super Mighty Makers gives kids a chance to see how they can take action and make a difference by combining crafts and acts of kindness. It’s another way that TVOkids gets children ready for school, life and to take on the world.”
