Serious Lunch has appointed Leila Ouledcheikh to the newly created position of director of global sales.

Ouledcheikh, who will report to Founder and CEO Genevieve Dexter, will carry overall responsibility for sales distribution activities related to Serious Lunch’s catalog, which includes Operation Ouch and Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter. As the director of global sales, she will also collaborate with Dexter on raising finance for Serious Lunch sister company Eye Present’s projects, such as Flix by Tomi Ungerer, Best & Bester and Messy Goes to Okido 3.

Ouledcheikh joins Serious Lunch from Saban Brands, where she served as the senior VP of EMEA distribution and consumer products, overseeing the U.K. office operations and the growth of the Power Rangers brand. She also previously held senior roles at London-based Entertainment Rights and CAKE, where she first worked with Dexter.

“I am excited to join Serious Lunch in its burgeoning phase and to have greater influence and control over the decision-making process in terms of distribution strategy and acquisitions,” said Ouledcheikh.

Dexter added, “I am delighted to be working together again. Leila has demonstrated a strong ongoing professional career in the media industry, with a consistent record of selling unique brands such as Power Rangers, Total Drama Island, Angelo Rules and Bob the Builder to name a few. This is a key move for the company which reflects the level of our ambition going forward.”
