PARIS/LOS ANGELES: Lagardère Active TV has picked up the exclusive free-to-air and basic pay-TV rights for DreamWorks Animation’s original TV shows to broadcast on its kids’ and family channels in France.

The pact includes such titles as Dragons: Race to the Edge, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, All Hail King Julien, Turbo FAST, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show and Dawn of the Croods. The agreement will kick off on Gulli in September 2016 with Dinotrux, DreamWorks Animation’s first original series, which is set in a world filled with giant creatures that are half dinosaur, half construction vehicle.

Caroline Cochaux, the managing director of Lagardère TV France and international, commented: “DreamWorks Animation (DWA) has crafted some of the world’s most beloved stories and characters for kids and families everywhere, especially in France. With this historic agreement, we are glad that Gulli, Canal J and TiJi will allow young viewers to rediscover their favorite characters in all-new adventures, while also enjoying new shows based on original concepts that DWA has created.”

Eric Ellenbogen, co-head of international TV and DreamWorks Classics, added: “We couldn’t be happier that Lagardère will be bringing our DreamWorks Animation original series to French audiences for the very first time on linear television. Families will be able to enjoy our beloved characters and amazing stories not only on Gulli, the leading kids’ network in France, but also on their kids’ pay-TV channels TiJi and Canal J. With 15 channels in their portfolio and a presence in over 50 countries, Lagardère TV is one of the world’s leading TV services. We’re delighted to welcome them to the DreamWorks Animation family.”
