Kari Kim Tapped as VP of Animation Development at Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon has placed Kari Kim in the newly created role of VP of animation development, responsible for all aspects of original series development from concept to pilot.

Kim will report directly to Ramsey Naito, Nickelodeon’s executive VP of animation production and development. She will be based out of the company’s Burbank, California, headquarters.

Kim has over 15 years of experience in the digital and TV industries. Before being tapped for the position at Nickelodeon, Kim served as a development executive at King Features Syndicate, where she created and produced content for many of the company’s properties. She also worked at pocket.watch developing and pitching new animated content for its kids and family slate.

Prior to her work at pocket.watch, Kim was the VP of program development at HLN, where she built video teams to create and develop original series, specials, branded content and various short-form series. She is also a founding member of Worldwide Biggies, a TV and digital transmedia company that has produced series for Nickelodeon, Awesomeness, Spike and EPIX.

“Kari’s expertise in creating original content and her ability to identify new talent makes her a terrific addition to the Nick animation team,” Naito said. “By combining her experience with our current franchise development team, led by Claudia Spinelli, we are on track to continue to grow our animation content pipeline.”
