Jetpack Distribution has acquired the worldwide rights, excluding the U.K., for the preschool live-action series Biff and Chip.

The series brings to life the characters from the Oxford Reading Tree phonics books that are used to teach kids to read. In Biff and Chip, children and their families and friends spend time together and come up with ideas through creative play.

The deal comprises 25 11-minute episodes. Another two seasons are in production.

Biff and Chip is produced by BBC Studios’ Kids & Family Productions and is currently airing on CBeebies in the U.K.

“Biff and Chip is full of twists and turns, surprising and delighting this age group,” said Dominic Gardiner, CEO of Jetpack Distribution. “It truly captures the warmth, innocence and humor of the much-loved books. That said, the screen adaptation still delivers something entirely new. The themes are timeless, and kids globally will connect with Biff and Chip’s funny, warm and engaging characters.”

Tali Walters, genre lead for drama at BBC Studios’ Kids & Family Productions, added, “Following the success of the series in the U.K., we’re thrilled that even more young audiences will now have access to these playful, inclusive stories in relatable scenarios that will appeal to families everywhere.”
