Season two of the CBC Kids original series Jeremy and Jazzy is set to bow September 2 on CBC Gem and September 9 on CBC Kids.

The series, produced by Vérité Films, has partnered with the SickKids Foundation to challenge kids and families to take part in the #Hopscotch4KidsChallenge to raise funds in support of childhood cancer research. The second season’s premiere episode, titled “Hopscotch,” will guest star the rock band Barenaked Ladies.

The series stars four-time JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter Jeremy Fisher (Jeremy) and Aiza Ntibarikure (Jazzy). Season two brings to life a new collection of children’s music written by musician Fisher, with 70 new episodes launching this fall.

“Hopscotch” is also the title track of the new Jeremy and Jazzy album featuring ten new songs, to be released worldwide September 2 by Jeremy Fisher Music, Hidden Pony Records and Universal Music Canada.

“I’ve been a fan of Jeremy for many years,” commented Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies. “I was thrilled when he contacted me to collaborate on Jeremy and Jazzy. It was so fun to make music together. Our primary concern now is staying off Drake and Kendrick’s RADAR. Cause we’re such dope MCs.”

“I’m a dad to two girls, ages four and eight, who love playing outside, so the idea for ‘Hopscotch’ came naturally,” said Fisher. “I texted the demo to Ed Robertson as I was walking my daughter to school. By the time I’d dropped her off, he replied with a voice memo of his complete verse for the song. It was a dream come true to collaborate with Ed and have Barenaked Ladies feature on the track.”

“I’m so excited about this new season of Jeremy and Jazzy,” said Ntibarikure. “‘Hopscotch’ is such a fun song, and it feels amazing to know that the #Hopscotch4KidsChallenge will make a real difference in many families’ lives by raising funds for children’s cancer research. All you have to do is get out there and play. How cool is that?!”
