Hello Halo has chosen Terri Langan, the company’s current head of children’s, to lead its newly launched kids’ division, Hello Halo Kids.

The aim of Hello Halo Kids is to produce international children’s programs, working with talent from television, film, theater and literature. The new division builds on the success of its current children’s series Junk Rescue and the brand-new 30-part preschool series for CBeebies, Let’s Go for a Walk.

Terri joined the company two years ago and started creating children’s content in 2011, after 15 years of working as a producer in sports, factual and as head of development for indies in London and Manchester. She devised and executive produced Junk Rescue and recently headed up two further seasons of the format—one of which is currently airing on CBeebies—with the fourth season playing later this year.

Let’s Go for a Walk shows how every child can enjoy being outdoors and appreciate the nature on their doorstep. It has been commissioned by the BBC.

Prior to Hello Halo, Langan joined BBC Children’s in 2011 and led the CBeebies in-house development team for almost four years; her commissions in that position included BAFTA-winning Old Jack’s Boat and Swashbuckle, and RTS-winning Stargazing and Biggleton.

Langan said: “Creating quality programs for young people has never been more important and I am delighted to lead Hello Halo’s new division. I look forward to creating even greater content for our young audiences and working with the incredibly talented children’s production community here in Scotland.”

Wendy Rattray, managing director at Hello Halo, added: “Terri is an exceptional talent in the world of children’s television. She’s an ambitious and highly creative exec and we’re excited about what’s on the horizon for Hello Halo Kids.”
