ATHENS: Greek public broadcaster ERT has secured the animated series Mouk and Louie via a donation from Millimages.

Due to the financial crisis in Greece, ERT 1, 2 and 3 were closed down in June 2013. However, this past June, the broadcaster reopened with drastic budget restrictions, limiting its opportunities to acquire content. Late last month, Roch Lener, Millimages’s CEO, and Lise Cosentino, the European sales manager, presented the series to Lambis Tagmatarchis, the CEO of Greek public stations ERT 1, 2 and 3; Isabella Sasloglou, the head of acquisitions; and Laetitia Kulyk, media attaché of the French Institute of Athens.

In the 104×11-minute series Mouk, two globetrotting friends explore the world on their bikes, traveling to places such as Hong Kong, New York, Brazil and Madagascar. In Louie, meanwhile, viewers learn how to draw everything from a house to a kangaroo in seven-minute episodes.
