BEVERLY HILLS: Genius Brands International (GBI) has inked a licensing deal with Kabillion to premiere the musical YouTube series SpacePOP on Kabillion Girls Rule!, a free on-demand network for young females in the U.S.

SpacePOP follows five teenage princesses who disguise themselves as musicians and form a band while secretly planning to defeat an evil empress trying to enslave the galaxy. The tween show’s debut on Kabillion Girls Rule! coincides with its launch on GBI’s Kid Genius VOD channel, which is available through Comcast’s Xfinity On Demand platform in the U.S.

Deb Pierson, the general manager of Kid Genius Channel, said: “Our YouTube launch of SpacePOP has already engaged millions of young girls with this colorful lifestyle series and distribution on Kabillion Girls Rule! will enable us to introduce millions more with their highly targeted audience of 6- to 12-year-olds, complementing our own distribution across the Kid Genius channel.”

David Di Lorenzo, the president of Kabillion, added: “We are happy to add SpacePOP to our programming lineup. This fun, short-form, music-based content is perfect for our tween audience of Kabillion Girls Rule!”
