Driver Digital & Driver Media Combine Under Driver Studios Umbrella

Driver Digital, a kids’ entertainment producer, and its sister company and commercial content producer, Driver Media, are combining and rebranding as Driver Studios.

Driver Digital is an award-winning kids’ entertainment producer known for digital-native brands under the Cool School umbrella, including Storytime with Ms. BooksyThe Stupendous Drew Pendous and Crafty Carol. The combined Driver Studios will focus on the development, production, distribution and licensing of entertainment content.

Driver’s kids’ and family division specializes in episodic storytelling in both animation and live action, both for its own IP and brands such as DreamWorks, Mattel and Nickelodeon. The company’s commercial division has produced content for agencies and brands with big-name talent including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sting, Maria Sharapova, Tiger Woods, Kevin Durant, Ellen DeGeneres and Kevin Bacon.

As part of the rebrand, Driver Studios developed a new logo and launched a new website, www.driver-studios.com, to showcase its brands, work and capabilities. Its growth strategy also included bringing on Melanie Summers as chief brand officer and Alita’s Brand Bar to manage brand licensing for Cool School.

Scott Weitz, CEO and founder, said: “Driver Digital and Driver Media have been creating memorable and engaging entertainment content for our own IP and for top brands for more than 20 years. By combining both sides of the business, we are putting all of the high-quality production that the ‘Driver’ name is synonymous with under one studio to best serve our partners and grow our brands.”

Weitz added: “As digital content platforms continue to be the leading source of kids and family content consumption, Driver Studios’ expertise in children’s entertainment provides a unique position in the market, and we are poised for our next stage of growth. Driver’s value proposition has always been the ability to unlock the total creative potential of an idea. As we move forward, we’re planning to significantly expand our IP portfolio and continue to deliver exciting quality entertainment that kids and families will love both on and off-screen.”
