Disney’s The Ghost and Molly McGee Renewed Ahead of Premiere

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the animated buddy comedy The Ghost and Molly McGee ahead of its premiere on October 1.

The series follows tween optimist Molly, who lives to make the world a better place, and a grumpy ghost named Scratch, whose job is to spread misery. New episodes will roll out on Saturdays through November 27 on Disney Channel, with episodes available on Disney+ in October.

Coinciding with the series premiere, the digital EP Music from The Ghost and Molly McGee featuring five original songs is set for release on October 1 on Walt Disney Records. DisneyNOW will also launch a time-management game on that day in which players must perform a variety of tasks to help Molly organize a talent show.

Later in October, a trio of Chibi Tiny Tales episodes will feature Chibi-style versions of Molly and Scratch as they embark on wild adventures, including a visit to The Haunted Mansion. The episodes will roll out on Disney Channel, Disney Channel YouTube and DisneyNOW.

The lead voice cast of The Ghost and Molly McGee includes Ashly Burch, Dana Snyder, Jordan Klepper, Sumalee Montano and Michaela Dietz. Season one will feature guest stars such as Kelsey Grammer (Cheers), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), Greta Gerwig (writer and director of Lady Bird), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Jane Lynch (Glee).

The series is a Disney Television Animation production and was created by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures). Motz, Roth and Steve Loter (Kim Possible) serve as executive producers.
