Disney XD Slates Star Wars Rebels Season Three Premiere

BURBANK: The animated series Star Wars Rebels is returning to Disney XD for a third season next month.

Season three will debut on September 24 at 8:30 p.m. with an hour-long premiere event, Star Wars Rebels: Steps into Shadow. Joining the voice cast this season are Tom Baker (Doctor Who) as the Force-wise Bendu and Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards) as the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The returning voice cast features Freddie Prinze, Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, Sam Witwer as Darth Maul and David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus. Dee Bradley Baker also returns as Captain Rex, Captain Gregor and Commander Wolffe.

In season three, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet.

Prior to the premiere of season three, Star Wars Rebels season two will become available on Blu-ray and DVD on August 30. Produced by Lucasfilm Animation, the series was created by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg and Carrie Beck.
