Disney XD in the U.S. Slates Debut for Counterfeit Cat

TORONTO: Disney XD in the U.S. is premiering the animated comedy series Counterfeit Cat from Tricon Kids & Family and Wildseed Kids this month.

Counterfeit Cat will be released in the U.S. on June 20 at 12:30 p.m. on Disney XD and its multiple platforms, including the Disney XD app and via VOD. Counterfeit Cat is a co-production between Tricon and Wildseed. The show follows the adventures of Max, a real cat, and Gark, who is actually a blue alien dressed in a purple cat costume. Gark’s curiosity and lack of understanding about life on Earth push Max, who is accustomed to being doted upon, out of his comfort zone and into zany adventures.

Pre-production on Counterfeit Cat was done at Wildseed’s Bristol studio, with animation production by Atomic Cartoons in Vancouver. Tricon International handles global distribution and property rights management. The series has been commissioned by Disney XD EMEA and TELETOON.
