Disney Channel Unveils Monstober Lineup

BURBANK: Disney Channel is gearing up for Monstober, a month-long Halloween programming event that begins on October 1.

Monstober will include Halloween-themed episodes of such Disney Channel series as K.C. Undercover, Best Friends Whenever and BUNK’D, to name a few. The block will also feature the premiere of the network’s original movie The Swap, special short-form content debuting nightly as part of Monstober Theater, and the return of Mal-oween, which includes an encore broadcast of Descendants and the second-season premiere of the animated shorts Descendants: Wicked World.

The October lineup also includes a week-long debut event of Best Friends Whenever, with new episodes airing October 2 to 6 at 9 p.m., and the U.S. premiere of The Lodge, with five back-to-back episodes debuting nightly starting on October 17 at 5 p.m.

More than 60 short-form interstitials featuring Disney Channel stars, DIY tutorials and more will air nightly as part of Monstober Theater. Starting on October 1, the Disney Channel app will host a variety of Monstober episodes, short-form content and movies throughout the month. The collection will include all four seasons of Wizards of Waverly Place.

Among the fan-favorite movies to air during the month are Halloweentown, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, Twitches, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, and Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University and Toy Story 3. Monstober will also feature the network debut of R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls and the hour-long animated special Ghost Patrol.
