Disney Channel Preps Return of Sofia the First

BURBANK: The fourth installment of Disney Junior’s hit animated series Sofia the First, produced by Disney Television Animation, is due to debut next month.

The new season will see the titular character taking on a bigger role as protector of her kingdom and visiting the enchanted Mystic Isles. It will feature such guest voice cast members as Andrew Rannells, Megan Hilty, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Ming-Na Wen, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Kimiko Glenn and Jane Krakowski. Season four is set to premiere on April 28 at 11:30 a.m.

Sofia the First is meant for young viewers between the ages of 2 and 7 and their caretakers. The Humanitas Prize-winning show follows the adventures of an ordinary girl who becomes a princess. It is executive produced by Craig Gerber and Jamie Mitchell, who also serves as director. The voice cast includes Ariel Winter, Sara Ramirez, Wayne Brady, Tim Gunn, Darcy Rose Byrnes, Nicolas Cantu, Travis Willingham and Jess Harnell.
