Disney Channel Orders Season 2 of Star Wars Resistance

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the animated Star Wars Resistance series that’s currently in the midst of its first season on the network.

Season two of Star Wars Resistance is slated to premiere in fall 2019. It will continue to follow a young pilot named Kazuda Xiono (Kaz), who was recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission that involves spying on the First Order. The next episode of the series’ first season will run on the Disney Channel and DisneyNOW on Sunday, January 13, at 10 p.m.

Lucasfilm Animation veteran Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) created the series; Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) serve as executive producers; and Amy Beth Christenson (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is art director.

The Star Wars Resistance voice cast includes Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (EastEnders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Jim Rash (Community), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).
