Disability Representation Takes Center Stage in Kavaleer Series

Irish animation studio Kavaleer Productions is in pre-production on a new series, Adam Loves Adventure!, focused on a 7-year-old boy, his wheelchair, Speedy, and rabbit friend Bubby.

The series is inspired by Adam King, a 7-year-old with a rare bone disorder who was featured on RTÉ’s Late Late Toy Show. “The disabled community is the largest minority with the least on-screen representation,” said Andrew Kavanagh, CEO of Kavaleer. “To achieve broader awareness and greater empathy for people with disabilities, the stories need to be told to larger audiences, and we’ve demonstrated there is interest and appetite for this content. Now with Adam Loves Adventure!, we have the opportunity to create great content with an exceptional young man and share his warmth and example with global audiences!”

Niamh O’Donnell, trade development executive at Enterprise Ireland, added, “Adam Loves Adventure! is an exceptional coupling of character, creativity and commercial opportunity. I am confident Adam Loves Adventure! will be another successful episode in Ireland’s burgeoning animation storyline.”
