DHX Media & DreamWorks Animation Tie Up for Kids’ Content

HALIFAX/GLENDALE: DreamWorks Animation has entered a five-year agreement with DHX Media to co-produce 130 episodes of animated kids’ content for DHX’s suite of channels in Canada.

Developed in collaboration with DHX Studios, the content will air on Family Channel, Family Jr., Family CHRGD and Télémagino. DHX will handle distribution for the titles in Canada while DreamWorks Animation will represent the content worldwide.

Additionally, DHX Media has acquired more than 1,000 half-hours of TV programming from DreamWorks Animation and 300 half-hours of teen content from AwesomenessTV. The DreamWorks titles, which include series such as All Hail King Julien and The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, are set for broadcast starting in June 2016 across DHX Television’s channels. The AwesomenessTV pickups will launch on Family Channel’s upcoming evening teen block, F2N. DHX will also handle distribution for the AwesomenessTV content in Canada, including SVOD and OTT.
