Dandelooo has sold the new 2D animated series Stinky Dog to the German broadcaster SWR, which plans to broadcast the series on the children’s channel KiKA.

Stinky Dog follows the comical and hectic adventures of a maverick mutt and his flattened best friend Flatty Cat, who live in a garbage can. The series was recently licensed to the Chinese digital distribution and IP management company Jesten Huashi, the children’s Spanish pay-TV channel Canal Panda and pubcasters DR TV (Denmark), RTS (French-speaking Switzerland) and RTBF (French-speaking Belgium).

Commissioned by France Télévisions and currently airing on Okoo, Stinky Dog also has an air date set for July 2021 on OCS. The series, targeted at kids aged 6 to 10, is based on the famous books written by Colas Gutman and illustrated by Marc Boutavant. It is co-produced by French companies Dandelooo and Folivari, Belgian production company Panique! and Catalan animation studio Pikkukala.

Emmanuèle Petry, co-founder of Dandelooo, said: “We are excited to see our beloved dim-witted and wacky dog travel out of France and globetrot around the world to reach children’s hearts. We are confident that with their many antics, Stinky Dog and his best friend Flatty Cat will create a global fan base.”
