Berlin-based Da Vinci Media has acquired the non-exclusive free-TV, pay-TV and VOD rights for the animated TV series Pincode, produced by Riki Group in Russia.

Through the agreement, Da Vinci has picked up 104 episodes of Pincode for its 24/7 channel Da Vinci TV and the Da Vinci Kids app. The five-year deal covers multiple territories, including Russia and CIS, Poland, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Greece and Turkey.

An edutainment spin-off of the Kikoriki series, Pincode encourages kids to explore the world of innovations, technology and discoveries. The first broadcasts of the series are scheduled for May 16 in Russia and CIS, Turkey, Africa and Asia. The series is slated to start airing on Da Vinci TV in Poland the following day.

Valeria Korotina, head of international business development and sales, said: “We have long thought that Pincode is a perfect match for the Da Vinci channel audience, so we had no doubts when proceeding with this deal. We are excited that Pincode will be broadcasted in so many territories for kids and whole families who are interested in science and who want to have fun at the same time.”

Una Suput, Da Vinci Media’s general manager, added: “We are very happy to be launching Pincode on our channel and the Da Vinci Kids app. It is a beautifully animated series, teaching kids the fundamentals of physics, chemistry and biology through an entertaining storyline and great characters. Da Vinci is all about fun, educational content and Pincode fits the bill perfectly.”
