Comedy Duo Dick & Dom to Speak at CMC 2017

British comedians Dick and Dom have been lined up to deliver the Creative Keynote at this year’s Children’s Media Conference (CMC), taking place in Sheffield from July 4 to 6.

The BAFTA winners, whose shows include Dick and Dom in da Bungalow and Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom, are celebrating their 21st anniversary in kids’ television at CBBC. The speech on July 5 will see the pair discuss how to keep things fresh, have fun and engage young audiences. It is part of this year’s “Open” conference theme, celebrating the diversity of people, ideas and approaches in children’s media.

Greg Childs, the editorial director at CMC, commented: “With their two decades of inspiring fun and laughter in children, and their great experience of presenting information in playful ways, Dick and Dom are the perfect duo to present a creative keynote at 2017’s CMC. The keynote is usually one of the most inspiring and talked-about events at the conference, and I have a feeling this year’s going to be no different. I think Dick and Dom will open some hearts and minds at the CMC as to what really connecting with kids is about, and how taking a sidelong look at the adult world and deflating a few of its pomposities will help kids, in worrying times, keep things in perspective.”
