GoldBee has inked a new agreement that will see Chop Chop Ninja, an adventure-comedy series from Montreal’s Sardine Productions and Gamerizon Studio, being added to the Nickelodeon lineup in territories across the globe.

Chop Chop Ninja, which follows a rookie named Iro and his three best friends at the Ninja Academy, began airing in Southeast Asia on Nickelodeon networks and platforms back in November. The series will roll out this quarter in a number of other territories, including Italy, the Middle East and Africa. Originally commissioned by Corus Entertainment for its French and English Teletoon networks, it premiered in Canada last October.

Through another deal that covers both linear pay-TV and SVOD rights, Talit Communications in Israel picked up Chop Chop Ninja to broadcast on its Junior channel.

Christophe Goldberger, GoldBee’s managing director, said: “The mobile-based property started as a popular series of ten app games. It has grown to now include non-verbal slapstick fillers, which have sold in over 120 territories, and two online games that are licensed together with the series. We are very happy to have Nickelodeon International and Talit Communications on board with this fun and light-hearted series.”

Ghislain Cyr, president of Sardine Productions and producer of Chop Chop Ninja, added: “It is with pride and joy that our latest series has been picked up by Nickelodeon and Talit Communications. We could not ask for better partners to take the Chop Chop Ninjas to the homes of our international audience.”
