SALFORD: Anna Davies has been elevated to head of drama development at CBBC Production, which has also appointed Tiger Aspect alum Tim Searle to oversee animated comedy.

Davies has been working for CBBC Production’s in-house team since 2012 as senior development producer. She has served as creative lead across a variety of scripted development, including the upcoming television adaptation of Jill Murphy’s The Worst Witch books. Earlier in her career, she was a scripted development exec at Lime Pictures and also worked for ITV Productions.

Helen Bullough, head of CBBC Production, commented: “Anna nurtures great relationships with writers, has a huge bucketful of experience and is thoughtful, clever and funny, so we’re delighted with this appointment.”

Searle will lead CBBC Production’s animated comedy slate, including the hit series Danger Mouse. He previously served as creative director of animation and children’s at Tiger Aspect, and head of animation at Baby Cow Animation.

Bullough added: “Crikey Chief—we are so thrilled Tim has joined us to steer everyone’s favorite secret agent and his trusty Penfold through even more action-packed comedy.”
