Cartoon Springboard Sees 22 Projects Pitched

Cartoon Springboard took place last week in Madrid, welcoming 176 participants from 18 countries and seeing 34 young talents pitch 22 projects.

For the first time at the three-day event, one-to-one meeting sessions were held, with 134 meetings organized between 70 participants. The Job Fair returned, with the participation of seven local companies.

A variety of keynotes, panels and case studies took place, with 35 speakers/experts from 14 countries. Sergio Pablos gave a sneak preview of his upcoming project Ember, Joanne Allen shared advice on navigating a career amid change, Meï Champeil (known as Meyuu) talked about how social media has become a space to grow visibility and bring projects life and multiple discussions were had around AI.

The 2025 Cartoon Springboard ended with a sneak preview of The Last Whale Singer, directed by Reza Memari. The film was pitched at Cartoon Movie throughout every stage of its development.

Next year’s Cartoon Springboard will take place from October 27 to 29. Project submission and registration will open at the beginning of May 2026.
