Cartoon Network, HBO Max Slate Iyanu Return

Lion Forge Entertainment’s Iyanu is set to return with its second season on March 21 on Cartoon Network and on March 22 on HBO Max.

Iyanu has proven itself to be a standout series, and we’re thrilled to continue that journey with season two,” said David Steward II, founder and CEO of producer Lion Forge Entertainment. “This next chapter raises the stakes in every way, from the scale of the story to the depth of its characters. Iyanu season two marks an exciting milestone for the franchise’s continued growth. We’re confident viewers will be drawn even deeper into this world as Iyanu’s adventure expands with bold storytelling and powerful new challenges.”

“Iyanu’s journey in season two is one of secrets, sacrifice and the true cost of leadership, and it has been the most rewarding creative experience of my career,” added Roye Okupe, creator, showrunner and executive producer. “I am thrilled to once again partner with Lion Forge Entertainment to bring this project to life.”

Season two sees Iyanu continue to master her burgeoning powers as she finds herself in the midst of a conflict between Elu and the People of the Deep. With various factions of Yorubaland vying for powerful divine artifacts that have reemerged, Iyanu strives to find a way to end the way and restore peace.

Returning cast includes Serah Johnson as Iyanu, Okey Jude as Biyi and Sam Kugbiyi as Toye. New cast members are Faith Gesiere Agua and David Onwubalili.

The series is executive produced by Steward II, Stephanie Sperber, Kirsten Newlands and Matt Heath from Lion Forge Entertainment; Erica Dupuis of Impact X Capital; Ryan Haidarian of Forefront Media Group; and Doug Schwalbe of Superprod.
