CANAL+ France Picks Up Walter’s Christmas

APC Kids has sold the first season of Walter’s Christmas: Keeper of the Forest to CANAL+ in France for CANAL+kids.

In the Danish-language fantasy series, young Walter discovers that his mother has put their family farm, where they normally host an annual Christmas market, up for sale. During his attempt to stop the sale, Walter lands himself deep in the farm’s forest, where he meets a creature from the magical and hidden Endless Forest, who informs him that all of nature is threatened.

The creature believes Walter is the chosen Keeper of the Forest and only he can save everything by recreating a broken pact between creatures and humans to protect the Mother Tree, which sustains all of nature. The creature, Walter and his little sister embark on a Christmas adventure to save the world.

Walter’s Christmas is produced by Cosmo Film (Tinka) for TV2 Denmark. It is written by Jesper Fink and Thomas Porsager and directed by Morten BH. Sille Sterll and Michel Ryddeskov are producers. The series has already been commissioned for a second season by TV2 Denmark.

Walter’s Christmas is a fun, fantastical series, and we are excited that children in France will experience the show on CANAL+kids this holiday season,” said Lionel Marty, managing director of APC Kids. “The writing and storytelling make this Danish show accessible and relevant to kids around the world.”
