Fantawild and Factoris have teamed up to make five movies in the Boonie Bears franchise available to audiences in French-speaking Europe.

The most recent film in the franchise, Boonie Bears: Blast into the Past, premieres on iTunes, Amazon and Fnac this month and will be available on Canal VOD, Orange and the main VOD platforms in France later in the summer. The next Boonie Bears movie, The Big Shrink, will bow in the region in September and be followed by two more Boonie Bears films, Fantastica and The Big Top Secret.

Factoris also secured the rights for the seventh installment in the series, Boonie Bears: The Wild Life, though its release has been postponed. Boonie Bears: The Wild Life premiered in the U.K. and Northern Islands earlier this month on Sky TV, while the five other Boonie Bears movies are available on VOD platforms on the territory.

In addition to the films, young viewers in France will also have access to the preschool series Boonie Cubs, which is airing on free TV via Pichoun Media, as well as YouTube and Facebook.

Alexandre Simard, CEO of Factoris Films, said: “Factoris Film is always looking for a new great animation that we can bring to the European market. We are excited to work with the Boonie Bears brand as they proved themselves to be a strong and successful franchise in many territories. Now we have a great chance to premiere this animation to our young audience in the U.K. and France.”

Simard added: “We are very excited about this opportunity and hope to grow the Boonie Bears brand on these two markets.”

Daniel Bort, head of International film distribution at Fantawild, said: “I have had a strong relationship with Factoris films in several of my previous positions in the market. I trust the company to maximize our exposure within every corner of the French territories.”
