In Australia, ABC Family and ABC iview have slated the TV premiere of Bluey’s Big Play for April 20.
The televised production will allow audiences to experience the stage adaptation of Bluey from home. The stage show features an original story from creator Joe Brumm and sees Bluey and Bingo pull out all their games and tricks to get Dad off his bean bag chair.
The show that will be broadcast was filmed at the Theatre Royal in Sydney. It features puppets and voices that audiences will recognize from the TV series, including Melanie Zanetti and Dave McCormack. It also features music specially composed by Joff Bush.
Bluey’s Big Play was nominated for an Olivier Award for best family show in 2024 and has played to families all over the world. The show that will be broadcast was filmed at the Theatre Royal in Sydney.
The televised version of Bluey’s Big Play is produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in association with Ludo Studio, Andrew Kay and Windmill Theatre Co. It will be distributed internationally by BBC Studios.
