MILAN: Atlantyca Live is gearing up for the premiere of its second North American stage production based on Geronimo Stilton.

“Geronimo Stilton: Mouse in Space” will open at Florida’s Orlando Repertory Theater (The REP) on January 30 and will wrap March 5. The show sees the protagonist launched into space on a top-secret mission, but he must overcome his fear of heights, the dark and confined spaces so that he can use his intelligence to save the day. “Geronimo Stilton: Mouse in Space” was adapted for the stage by John Maclay.

“Geronimo Stilton: Mouse in Space” marks the second live production deal to be brokered by the Susan Gurman Agency, Atlantyca’s theatrical literary agent. Atlantyca’s first U.S. stage show launched January 16, 2016, at The Oregon Children’s Theater. The Geronimo Stilton books have sold more than 53 million copies to date. They are distributed in the U.S. by Scholastic.

“We are so excited to be expanding our live shows throughout the U.S.,” said Rachele Geraci, stage rights and sales development manager for Atlantyca Live. “Live shows have become the newest form of family entertainment to be enjoyed by parents and their children together. We see this as the ultimate opportunity to share Geronimo Stilton’s adventures, actually bringing the stories from the pages to life, in its truest form, hopefully capturing the young minds of our many book fans.”

Jeff Revels, the artistic director of Orlando Repertory Theater, added, “We were thrilled to discover that Geronimo Stilton was being developed for the stage and immediately set about trying to ensure that Geronimo and all his friends made a stop in Orlando! We focus entirely on theater for young audiences and children simply cannot get enough of Geronimo’s adventures. We are excited to bring the action and mystery and whimsy of Geronimo’s world to the stage.”

Atlantyca Live is Atlantyca Entertainment’s dedicated division for the creation, production and development of live stage shows for all of the company’s owned properties.
