Apple TV+ Unveils Upcoming Fall Kids’ Slate

Apple TV+ has revealed its upcoming fall kids’ slate, which includes the premiere of DreamWorks Animation’s spooky adventure series CURSES!

Bowing on October 27, CURSES! sees a generational curse turn a family patriarch into stone, leaving his two kids and wife the task of returning artifacts stolen by their ancestors to lift the curse for good. John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, The Office) is among the executive producers.

Other executive producers are series co-creators Jim Cooper (DreamWorks Dragons) and Jeff Dixon (The Hurricane Heist). Leo Riley (Guardians of the Galaxy, Tron: Uprising) directs, with animation services provided by CGCG and House of Cool.

Also on Apple TV+’s fall slate is season two of Interrupting Chicken, a preschool series based on the books written and illustrated by David Ezra Stein. The new season will continue introducing young children to creative writing. Produced by Mercury Filmworks, the series features the voices of Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, American Fiction) and Juliet Donenfeld (Pete the Cat, Gabby’s Dollhouse). Wyclef Jean guest stars, performing an original song.

The stop-motion series Shape Island, based on the best-selling trilogy of The Shapes picture books from Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, will also be making its return. A Halloween special titled “Creepy Cave Crawl” is slated to debut on October 20 and will follow Circle and Square as they celebrate Halloween on their own after Triangle pranks them. Barnett, Klassen and Bix Pix Entertainment’s Kelli Bixler and Drew Hodges executive produce the series and special.
