Animation in Europe Elects New Board

Animation in Europe, a federation of animation producer associations from across the region, has elected a new board under returning Chairman Philippe Alessandri, the CEO of Watch Next Media.

The General Assembly of Animation in Europe elected its two-year board at its annual meeting at Annecy. Annemie Degryse of Lumiere Publishing/Lunanime (Belgium) will serve as treasurer. Vice chairs are Moetion Films’ Moe Honan (Ireland), Akkord Film Produktion’s Dirk Beinhold (Germany) and CAKE’s Tom van Waveren (Netherlands). PRO-ANIMATS’ Mar Sáez Pedrero (Spain) will continue to serve as general secretary.

Animation in Europe represents 18 producer associations from 15 countries across Europe, including France’s SPFA, Italy’s Cartoon Italia, Spain’s DIBOOS & ProAnimats and Animation UK. Founded in 2017, the association promotes independent production and distribution companies from Europe and works to bolster the industry in the region. It holds meetings at MIPTV, Cartoon Forum and Annecy.
