Angry Birds Series Set for Discovery Kids in India

NEW DELHI: Discovery Kids is bringing the Angry Birds franchise to TV screens in India in a series format for the first time early next year.

Discovery Kids will air three shows, Angry Birds ToonsAngry Birds Stella and Piggy Tales. All three series follow the adventures of the birds and pigs from the mobile game created by Rovio Entertainment. The Angry Birds franchise will premiere on Indian TV screens in the first quarter of 2017.

Rajiv Bakshi, the VP of female and family entertainment products for South Asia at Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said, “Angry Birds is one of the most popular and loved franchises in the world, with a massive fan base in India. Discovery Kids is committed to present the finest variety and entertainment for children in India. Earlier this month, we premiered a series on the iconic Charlie Chaplin. Going into 2017, we have lined up multiple new global and Indian series. To increase the entertainment quotient on the channel, we will also air the biggest animation movies on weekends, making Discovery Kids the most sought-after destination for children in India.”
