Alma’s Way’s new digital game, The Alma Train, is slated to debut later this month, followed by an event celebrating the launch at New York City’s Grand Central Station.

Playing The Alma Train, fans will join Alma and Tía Gloria as they build a subway system to bring passengers around New York City. Using strategic thinking, players will add pieces to the track that connect to various subway stops. It will be released on August 25.

NYC landmarks featured in The Alma Train include the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and Grand Central Station. Aimed at kids aged 4 to 6, the game is single-player but can be co-played with a parent or caregiver.

On August 27, The Alma Train Party at Grand Central Station will be a special block party-like event, featuring activities and stations from a number of famous institutes from the Bronx, Alma’s hometown. Those who attend The Alma Train Party will be able to: take photos with the Alma costume character; play the new The Alma Train digital game; meet real female MTA subway conductors; enjoy special activities from The Bronx Children’s Museum, The Bronx Zoo, The Bronx River Alliance and the New York Public Library; learn traditional Puerto Rican Bomba dancing; and dance to live music from Hasta La Zeta.

Made by Fred Rogers Productions for PBS KIDS, Alma’s Way was created by Sonia Manzano (Maria on Sesame Street). It is inspired by Manzano’s childhood growing up in the Bronx and follows the titular confident Puerto Rican girl as she learns to speak up for herself, make tough decisions, figure out how to help friends and more. Each episode showcases different aspects of Latino culture through language, food, music and customs.
