The Powerpuff Girls Reboot to Debut on Cartoon Network

BURBANK: Cartoon Network is premiering the all-new, reimagined The Powerpuff Girls series on April 4.

The latest original animated comedy series from Cartoon Network Studios will debut with back-to-back episodes on Monday, April 4, at 6 p.m. Following the premiere, Cartoon Network will air two weeks of new episodes from April 4 to 15, Mondays through Fridays. On April 21, The Powerpuff Girls will move into its regular time slot, Thursdays at 6 p.m.

The Powerpuff Girls will kick off its global return to TV with a world premiere event on Monday, March 14, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas. The fan-centric experience will feature a world premiere screening, pre-party and parade with giant-balloon likenesses of all three Powerpuff Girls.

The series follows superhero sisters Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, who protect their bustling metropolis of Townsville from sinister evildoers who are intent on taking over. The Powerpuff Girls do all of this while balancing school and homework. The series will begin to launch in Europe, Asia in Latin America following the U.S. debut.

The Powerpuff Girls is produced by Cartoon Network Studios. Nick Jennings (Adventure Time, SpongeBob SquarePants) serves as executive producer and Bob Boyle (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) is co-executive producer. The initial run of The Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCracken, premiered in 1996.
