MALMÖ: RealYoung 2016, a program that is part of a new collaboration between IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), EDN – European Documentary Network and The Financing Forum for Kids Content with the support of the Swedish Film Institute, is accepting submissions for children’s and youth documentary projects from filmmakers and producers until January 15.

RealYoung is a three-step program that focuses on documentary stories for younger audiences. The initiative includes two online sessions and one on-location meeting. It offers filmmakers the chance to develop and present their projects and network to facilitate the introduction of their ideas to an international audience. Submissions should be independent of restrictions such as budget, country, team or stage of development. The top six projects will be selected in two categories: RealYoung Pitch Projects, which will be invited to participate in the full development program, to be pitched during The Financing Forum for Kids Content and to conduct individual meetings with potential financiers and collaborators; and RealYoung Development Projects, which will be invited to take part in the full development program and individual meetings with potential financiers and collaborators.

RealYoung Pitch Projects should be thoroughly developed projects with clear intentions regarding the story, treatment, target audience and production outline. RealYoung Development Projects should be independent of any restrictions such as budget, format and stage of development.
