Xilam Opening Production Facility in Lyon

PARIS: French animation studio Xilam, creator of the kids’ series Oggy and the Cockroaches, is prepared to open a new production facility in Lyon early next year.

The studio will be located in the new Pôle Pixel at Villeurbanne, a business park housing 100-plus companies. Xilam currently has five animated series in production and a lineup of new offerings set for coming years. The new studio in Lyon will help the company absorb the production flow, beginning with two series, Paprika for France Télévisions and season two of Magic for Gulli. Besides the studios in Paris and Lyon, Xilam also has facilities in Vietnam.

Marc du Pontavice, the founder of Xilam, said: “We are extremely enthusiastic about expanding our production facility to Lyon, which will enable Xilam to double its current production capacity and create 80 new jobs in the short-term and 120 within three years.”
