Viaplay Content Distribution Expands Kids’ Slate

Viaplay Content Distribution has expanded its kids’ slate with the addition of the Swedish series LasseMaja’s Detective Agency and Bert.

Across two seasons and 12 episodes total, LasseMaja’s Detective Agency follows two best friends who solve quirky crimes in Valleby, from jewel thefts to ghostly goings-on. Each season brings a fresh set of mysteries and a cast of townsfolk, including a daydreaming chief of police, a romantic barista duo and a priest in direct contact with heaven.

LasseMaja’s Detective Agency stars Elis Nyström (Panik i tomteverkstan), Ellen Sarri Littorin (The Inner Circle) and Anders Jansson (Suedi). It is directed by Ted Kjellsson (Håkan Bråkan), Gustav Åkerblom (Ture Sventon) and Johan Lundin (Blinded). An FLX production, the series originally aired on TV4/C More.

Bert centers on Bert Ljung, an underdog with a journal full of hopes and hormones. Freshly dumped and newly 14, Bert goes on a chaotic quest to find love again while facing rival guitar guys, sudden acne and the problem of falling for the sister of the school’s biggest bully.

The cast features Adrian Macéus (Little Did I Know), Lily Wahlsteen (Otajmat), Samy Karlsson Fariat (Dough) and Arvid Bergelv. The series is directed by Bill Schumacher (The Ambassador) and written by Adrian Boberg (Sunny Side) and Tapio Leopold (Trouble), with Sussan Treschow (Jana–Marked for Life) producing for FLX.
