Disney Junior Reveals Upcoming Slate of Originals

Disney Junior has unveiled its slate of new original series and returning franchises for kids 2 to 7, which will debut through 2024.

Among the new titles is Superkitties, an action-packed series produced by Silvergate Media in association with Disney Junior that follows four superhero kittens who are on a mission to make their town a more caring place. As they defeat villains, they impart messages of kindness, empathy, friendship, resilience and problem-solving.

Other new series are Hey A.J., an adventure comedy produced by Surfing Giant Studios and inspired by former pro bowler and Super Bowl Champion Martellus Bennett’s family; Kindergarten: The Musical, an animated musical produced by Oddbot Entertainment about navigating all of the “firsts” young kids experience; and RoboGobo, a Brown Bag Films production that highlights five adorable pets who have no home until a kid inventor adopts them and gives them super-powered robo-suits.

Two original shorts were revealed as well. Me & Mickey is a series of vlog-style video shorts featuring Mickey Mouse, who invites preschoolers to laugh and play along as he talks about everyday topics. Winnie the Pooh (w.t.) is a musical short-form series that stars Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

In addition, Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, produced by Disney Television Animation, has been renewed for a second season.

Previously announced titles that will be premiering through 2024 are season two of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends (debuting this August), Mickey Mouse Funhouse, Eureka! (bowing on June 22), Firebuds and Pupstruction.

“Disney Junior is already home to some of the most beloved preschool programming, and today, we have unveiled the next slate of content that is sure to entertain preschool kids for years to come,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “As with Disney Junior’s current slate, each of these projects is unique, inspiring and encompasses all of the brand values that have come to represent Disney Junior over the last decade—storytelling with heart that resonates with both kids and parents.
