Guru Studio has signed a global licensing deal with Scholastic Publishing for its brand-new preschool series Pikwik Pack.

The line of products from Scholastic will include storybooks, as well as novelty and activity books all based on the original series. Pikwik Pack is set to air on Disney Junior in the U.S. in 2020.

Scholastic is the latest strategic licensing partner signed by Guru for the global Pikwik Pack consumer products rollout, including the appointment of Playmates Toys as the global master toy partner earlier this year.

A sneak peek of the series will be debuting at MIPJunior as a World Premiere TV Screening on October 12, at 6 p.m. at the JW Marriott Hotel in Cannes.

The series follows Suki the hedgehog, Axel the raccoon, Tibor the hippo and Hazel the cat (the “Pikwik Pack”) as they deliver magical packages filled with love to the kind citizens of Pikwik. The 52 11-minute episodes are packed with big adventures, silly hijinks and heartfelt charm that will entertain preschoolers while underscoring the value of teamwork, community and critical thinking.

“We’re incredibly proud to be working with a best-in-class partner like Scholastic,” said Jonathan Abraham, VP of sales and business development at Guru Studio. “We’re seeing tremendous interest for Pikwik Pack from across the licensing world, and together with Disney Junior, Playmates Toys and Scholastic we have an incredible foundation for the brand.”

Pikwik Pack has all the evergreen elements of children’s programming and storytelling: humor, teamwork, overcoming obstacles, community and friendship,” said Debra Dorfman, VP and publisher for global licensing, brands and media at Scholastic. “We’re incredibly excited to bring these endearing characters and expansive world to life for young readers.”
