Comic Book-Based Series Akissi in the Works

Ellipsanime Productions and GHWA Productions are partnering to develop the animated show Akissi, based on Marguerite Abouet and Mathieu Sapin’s comic books.

The 78×7-minute series follows a little girl named Akissi, who discovers new things and stirs up mischief in her neighborhood in Africa. Akissi is an adventure-comedy series that was introduced at Cartoon Forum 2017.

Akissi is inspired by the writer’s childhood growing up in Abidjan. The series is produced by Ellipsanime Productions and GHWA Productions with support from Pictanovo. The show is intended for kids aged 5 and up. The comic books, published by Gallimard Jeunesse in France, have been translated into many languages, including English, Portuguese, Swedish, Catalan and Spanish.
