Nelvana Secures VOD, Linear, In-Flight Deals for Kids’ Shows

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has closed several deals across VOD, linear and in-flight entertainment for some of its key brands, including Babar, Franklin, Ranger Rob, and Max and Ruby.

The new deals will bring Nelvana’s kids’ shows to additional platforms for consumers in the U.K., the U.S. and Canada. New VOD partners include Amazon in the U.K. for Backyardigans, Mr. Young, Little Bear and Life with Boys; Pure Flix in the U.S. for shows such as Babar, Pippi Longstocking and Rescue Heroes, as well as for special programming for Franklin and Babar; and Cinedigm in the U.S. and Canada for The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, George and Martha, Rescue Heroes, Pippi Longstocking, Braceface, Wayside and Elliot Moose.

New linear broadcast partners are Accessible Media in Canada for Babar; SRC Canada for French-speaking Canada for Ranger Rob; and Television Entertainment in Latin America for Backyardigans Extension. In addition, Nelvana finalized an in-flight entertainment partnership with Spafax Inflight Entertainment and Air Canada for a range of shows, including Backyardigans, Fairly Odd Parents, Max and Ruby, The Zhu Zhus, Ranger Rob, Little Charmers, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Trucktown, Franklin and Friends and Scaredy Squirrel.
