LOS ANGELES/HÖHENKIRCHEN/MUNICH: m4e has teamed up with Emmy Award‐winning producer Sherry Gunther Shugerman (The Simpsons, Rugrats, Family Guy) to produce The Beatrix Girls.

The show is based on the multimedia brand and its toy line of collectible pop‐star dolls. The brand is driven by original music, with more than 23 million views of its YouTube videos, originally developed by Shugerman and her company POPmedia Brands. The series follows best friends Brayden, Lark, Ainsley and Chantal, who are 12-inch dolls living the pop-star life in a normal-sized world.

Emmy-nominated screenwriter Robert Ramirez is also working on the series. The Beatrix Girls is in financing, and the producers are in discussions with several broadcasters. Production is due to start in 2017.
