41E Gears Up for MIPCOM with Skylanders Academy & More

41 Entertainment (41E) is heading to Cannes with a lineup of animated series, including Activision Blizzard Studios’ Skylanders Academy, for which the company has been named exclusive global sales agent for linear television, EST and home-entertainment distribution.

Skylanders Academy is inspired by the popular video game and features the voices of Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale and Susan Sarandon, among others. 41 Entertainment is also presenting two all-new original shows, Shooting Star and The Mini Musketeers, which will be produced by 41 Studios. Shooting Star is created by Avi Arad and written by Eric Rogers and Josh Haber. It tells the story of a 13-year-old who becomes a superhero. The Mini Musketeers, meanwhile, follows the adventures of 6-year-olds D’Artanya, Athos, Aramis and Portia before they become the most famous heroes in France.

Additional titles on 41 Entertainment’s MIPCOM slate include the first season of Super Monsters, about six preschoolers who are humans by day and monsters by night; seasons one and two of Kong: King of the Apes, in which Kong finds himself in a preserved prehistoric underworld; the first two seasons of Tarzan and Jane; and two seasons of PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures.

“The 41E team is very happy to be named the Skylanders Academy exclusive global sales agent,” said Allen Bohbot, the managing director of 41E. “The proven success in the marketplace of this amazing property makes this a very exciting partnership and we look forward to representing the brand at the international markets. We could not be more pleased with the development and creative direction on our new IPs, Shooting Star and The Mini Musketeers.”

“We are thrilled with this strong multi-genre, multi-season lineup of properties,” added Kiersten Halstead, the VP of creative services, acquisitions and development at 41E. “Each title is high-quality CG-animation and each is in varying stages of completion: one is completely produced, four are currently in production and two are ready to begin production early next year. With many instantly recognizable brands and genres covering multiple needs—comedy, boys’ action, girls’ action, as well as preschool, our titles are attractive to a global linear and nonlinear marketplace.”
