SHEFFIELD: The Children’s Media Conference (CMC) has scheduled next year’s event for July 5 to 7.

Heading into its 13th year, the CMC is a conference dedicated to supporting children’s media. Held in Sheffield, it draws a global delegation of creatives, producers and distributors of kids’ content across all media. The 2016 edition will begin with the annual CMC International Exchange, bringing IP owners, producers, writers, interactive media specialists and service providers from the U.K. together with broadcasters, distributors, funding agencies and producers seeking co-production potential from around the world. The Changemakers strand will return next year, featuring people, many under the age of 25, who are creating waves in traditional media models, in education and with today’s young audience. The event will also include a creative keynote, in addition to the opening and closing keynotes.

The Children’s Media Conference has also revealed that the annual CMC Animation Exchange will be held on March 10 at the BIS Conference Centre in Westminster. The one-day event will examine the transformation of the U.K. animation industry since the launch of the animated series tax break. It will explore how companies are accessing the incentive and what it means for the funding of projects, among other questions surrounding the tax break. New next year will be a delegation of international guests that will take part in the meetings.

Greg Childs, the editorial director of Children’s Media Conference, commented: “Our CMC events offer a unique combination of sessions providing relevant information about our industry, often created and curated by industry insiders, as well as offering fantastic meeting and networking opportunities. We look forward to bringing the worldwide kids' entertainment community a broad cross-section of experts and content in 2016.”
