​​PBS KIDS Celebrates Spring with Explore the Outdoors

PBS KIDS has unveiled its Explore the Outdoors-themed lineup, which will celebrate the natural world in all-new specials and episodes from popular series.

Running from April 18 to May 13, Explore the Outdoors aims to help boost kids’ curiosity and understanding about the environment and sustainability while inspiring outdoor fun. It commences with Elinor Wonders Why: A Wonderful Journey, a one-hour movie that kicks off a week of new episodes from the series.

The new Elinor Wonders Why episodes include “The Little Drummer/Rest is Best” (April 19), “Elinor’s Fishy Friend/Do the Crane Dance” (April 20) and “Feed the Birds/Señor Tapir Says Adios” (April 21).

On April 29, PBS will air Cyberchase: Buzz and the Tree, a half-hour Arbor Day special, followed by a trio of all-new episodes in a special Cyberchase Family Night Weekend block on the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel. The episodes include “Hacker’s Bright Idea,” “The Lilting Loons” and “Living in Disharmony.”

A week of new episodes of Alma’s Way will debut on May 2. They include “Granny on the Go/Chacho’s Day Out (May 2), “Checkers Champ/World’s Greatest” (May 3), “Steggie Rescue/Alma Hits the Right Note” (May 4) and “Do the Waltzango/Big Brother Bootcamp” (May 5).
