LONDON/PARIS: A number of new agreements have been signed for Guess My Age, a studio game-show format developed by Vivendi Entertainment in association with Tooco.

Guess My Age has been commissioned for a second season on C8 (formerly known as D8) in France, where the show is produced by Vivendi-owned Flab Prod. German pubcaster ARD ordered 15 weekly episodes, which are due to debut in access prime time on December 2. The local version will be produced by Banijay’s Brainpool TV. The format was also licensed in the Czech Republic for broadcast next year.

In addition, three Guess My Age pilots testing three different presenters have been produced in Italy by Banijay’s Magnolia TV. Vivendi also teamed up with Banijay and its local subsidiaries for options spanning another 13 territories (in addition to Germany and Italy): the U.S., U.K., Nordic countries, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Russia, India, Australia and New Zealand.

Guess My Age has also been performing well in Slovakia, where it recently debuted on TV JOJ. That local version is co-produced by Paprika Latino.

Matthieu Porte, Vivendi Entertainment’s executive VP of international and development, commented: “Guessing someone else’s age is a universal matter which we have perfectly packaged so that each episode brings nostalgia, suspense and emotion. It’s fantastic to nurture such a cool project from inception, and bring it to a simultaneous launch in such a large number of countries.”

Arnaud Renard, Vivendi Entertainment’s executive VP of creative affairs, stated: “From the very beginning, we believed Guess My Age had the potential to become a global format. The show’s efficient and highly addictive gameplay speaks to every viewer from 7 to 99. That’s why so many broadcasters and producers fall in love with it.”

Franck Appietto, C8’s general manager, noted: “Guess My Age’s success proves that risk-taking can pay for broadcasters targeting savvy viewers looking for both fun and clever concepts.”

Frank Beckmann, ARD’s access prime head coordinator, added: “I’m looking forward to a new thrilling format in our access prime time. Guess My Age will strongly enrich our already successful quiz-show portfolio.”
