KIEV: The Ukrainian entertainment format Claim to Meladze has sold into mainland China.

The competition title chronicles the search for new members of a boy band under the guidance of a famous producer. The show has already been broadcasted in Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. Ukraine’s Kvartal 95 co-produced the format with Gaudi Studio.

This is the second Kvartal 95 format to sell into mainland China, following the acquisition of Crack Them Up by broadcaster Jiangxi in 2014.

“This is great news for us and a next step in our company's expansion into the international markets,” said Volodymyr Zelenskiy, co-owner and creative producer of Kvartal 95. “We are really glad about the success of Crack Them Up, and now viewers will be able to see another entertainment show from Ukraine.”
