Canada’s TVA has ordered a fourth season of the prime-time studio entertainment series Dance Revolution, following a record-breaking third season.

The dance competition, produced by Fair-Play and Quebecor Content, sees dancers from all styles and ages compete to impress three industry masters. With state-of-the-art technology, “Revolution” moments, key parts of the dancers’ routines, are captured with a 360-degree shot to help the judges see their precise movements.

The third season of Dance Revolution gathered 1.4 million viewers on average with a 42 percent market share, above the results of the previous seasons and TVA’s average. The season finale itself had a record-breaking 44 percent share and 1.6 million viewers.

The Dance Revolution format is distributed by Armoza Formats and has traveled to China, Lithuania and Russia.

Dance Revolution is a unique format developed by Quebecor Content and Fair-Play that has taken Quebec by storm,” said Yann Paquet, VP of strategy and international business at Quebecor Content. “Season after season, audiences are introduced to incredibly talented new dancers who thrill viewers with their Revolution moments, each more original and spectacular than the last. We are very proud to see this world-class format take off globally.”

Amos Neumann, COO of Armoza Formats, added, “Strong formats are judged by their longevity, and Dance Revolution is here to prove that a series with compelling content, high production quality, with strong storytelling and fantastic visuals, is here to stay. We are very happy with the long-lasting cooperation with TVA and Fair-Play, the creators and producers of this amazing format.”
